No Pop of Colour: Neutral Rooms

Usually, I am all about a bright pop of colour as an accent in any room. Lately, however, I have been noticing a lot of stunning rooms that lack that pop and make their statements all in a neutral scheme.

I find many people in my life are afraid of incorporating bold colour into their space, and these inspirational images have taught me that neutral does not have to be boring.
The key is to mix patterns, tones, styles and textures to create interest!
My favourites are the first and the last one. That glass garden stool is a-maze-ing. I'm drooling.
What do you think of neutral decor?

  1. I love a little color myself - feel like I'm missing something without it! The images you posted are beautiful and food for thought!

  2. I agree, usually I'm all about color. But every once in awhile I love these light, neutral rooms as well. I love how individual pieces of furniture stand out more amongst the neutrals. Sometimes having color can distract people from noticing the great furniture!

  3. Oooooh pretty. I agree, neutral colors give off that bright and airy, fresh feeling. Gives rooms a nice openness. Le sigh!

  4. Yeap... this is my type of decoration! no pop of colors! Just white, beige, and some brown and black! I have a serene feeling when I walk into these rooms. This is why I've picked exactly this color scheme for my living room, which by the way, looks very much like the color scheme of the first photo!

  7. The fifth space is my favorite. Love the stone coffee table, the console table, and that killer brown lamp.

  8. You nailed it with your statement about patterns, textures, etc. I definitely tend to stick to neutrals, I like mixing a bit of masculine and feminine qualities together. Like that first room! Such a beautiful space. And I love all the textures happening in that last room. Love your taste in decor Tiffany!
