I seriously think poofs (or poufs) are one of the most versatile small scale pieces one could own.
In general, they make a good foot rest, but in a pinch (at a party) they easily double as casual seating.
You could even balance a tray on top and have it become a little side table.
It also makes a great bench at the end of the bed.
^While I'm a huge fan of the Moroccan poof, I just can't get over the cozy texture of this knitted one. Used in the space above it feels warm yet industrial and masculine, but I also think it works great in kids spaces.
In fact, I'm designing a floor plan for class right now in which I use two of these in a play area.
Knitted ones can be found at CB2
I know some people think poofs are overdone, but I think they are too versatile to give up just yet.
What do you think of poofs?
Would you go Moroccan or knitted?

I love both styles! I agree, you do see them everywhere making them a bit "overdone" but I think that just proves how versatile they are.

I do love them but, since I live in such a small space, unfortunately, they fall into the same category as ottomans - nice to have and, yes, versatile, but ultimately in the way. I love them in bigger spaces though, more than the traditional ottoman even! Great round-up. One day, I may have one, overdone or not!
ReplyDeleteI love them all! I just saw some knitted looking ones at World Market for like $70! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love them in the bedroom or in the living room as extra seating! Very versatile, you're right!
ReplyDeleteI love the poof! The knit ones look so cozy!

I love knitted poufs, and I would invest in one if I weren't convinced it would become an overpriced cat bed.
ReplyDeleteYes! I love the Moroccan ones -- would love a white or gold one to throw in one of our rooms. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Moroccan ones.
ReplyDeleteI haven't even seen the knitted ones yet! I LOVE them, Tiffany! Perfect for a nursery!

Great accent pieces and a wonderful addition. Can fit in and be so functional....and have lots of design!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours of the Moroccan ones - they always seem to come in the most amazing turquoises and yellows! We have a white knitted one though and I love it!
ReplyDeleteMoroccan all the way. If I had the disposable income of my dreams, I'd have several all over the house!
