Mother's Day is coming up, and it's got me thinking about my mama.
One thing my mom absolutely adores is seashells. In my parent's home, she has set up several lovely vignettes featuring seashells that we have gathered on our vacations.

And don't forget that gorgeous pink shell that I
stole borrowed from my mom to style my coffee table with:
Decorating with shells is such a beautiful way to add texture and a natural element to any space.
Can you believe this over the top mantle?:
Love the look of framed items from the sea! My mom has a sea fan we are dying to do this to:

My parents are planning a trip to Sanibel Island, which is known for having some of the best shelling in the world. There is something so peaceful about hunting for shells:

Do you collect seashells? How do you display them?
I love them and I have a few on my coffee table and some in a bowl beside my bed. So timeless and pretty!
ReplyDeleteThey are so fun to find and really bring back such beautiful memories of childhood...this is my favorite thing about them....the memories they conjure up.
ReplyDeleteThat mantle is so crazy that I love it!!
ReplyDeleteSo from my last long winded comment you know i LOVE the beach. I have collected so many shells over the years that I got overwhelmed and gave em away. Now when I go to the beach I look for really cool rocks. I know, totally boring right...but they are super smooth and perfect for stacking. And I limit myself to stones of really cool colors.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little, I actually did collect seashells. They are so pretty. Now I have one on my bookcase that's peachy pink and I LOVE it! Such a cute pic of you and your boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteThat mantel is really cool. And yes I have seashells here and there too ;)
ReplyDeleteI love my collection! And I've been to Sanibel, your mom will be in heaven! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't collect shells, but I love seeing them in interiors - there are just so many ways to use them!
ReplyDeleteWe are not collectors to this degree, but do have a small jar from each beach vacation. Regarding that fireplace, I can take your comment of "can you believe this over the top of the mantel?" one of two ways; can you believe this meaning how beautiful, or can you believe this that someone actually did this? My thoughts lean towards the second, but to each their own. Hope your having a great day! -Tonya
