Looking around my apartment, it's easy to see that I love my white walls, especially when paired with pops of black, gold and pink, but lately there is another wall colour that is stealing my heart. I think this is what I will use in my next apartment, which I plan on being less girly and more sophisticated.
That colour is a muddy, moody, robin's egg blue (with some green in it). It's something like these, only maybe slightly more toned down:

Are you with me? I am picturing it with pear greens, chartreuses and mustard yellows. I think it would look really good with the bits of blue in my rug:
I also think the colour will pair nicely with the goldy tones of my natural bamboo chairs (and the emerald green Kelly Wearstler pillow you see on the chair)
These are some of my major pieces I cannot see myself ever parting with.
Do you like muddy paint colours? Or do you prefer clean?

I've always loved that first room! I'm definitely a muddy person!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Especially with gold
ReplyDeleteI had a muddy blue similar to that in my kitchen before I painted everything white. I love muddy!
ReplyDeleteI love it! My Mom got a settee in a similar color for the living room at home, and I was surprised by how much I liked it. It is a sophisticated and somewhat unexpected look. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteOoooh I love it. Especially with the gold & chartreuse!

I absolutely prefer muddier tones. Neutralizes the color and makes it easy to combine with other colors!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! Go for it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Especially love the photograph with the sunburst mirror...so fresh and classy looking!

I have been kind of obsessed with this colour lately - it's so classic and calming. We're basing our baby shower around it too!
