Pink Houses

For my studio project this term, we are designing a boutique hotel in an old Victorian mansion, complete with corner tower.
In my hunt for some inspiration for the exterior, I came across some pretty stunning pink houses. Although this is not direction we are taking our hotel, it most certainly is the direction that I am taking my daydreaming this Monday morning! Enjoy!

It's my dream to live in a century home such as a Victorian. While I'm not sure I would paint it pink, it is fun to daydream!

Pink with Envy: My Mom's Depression Glass Collection

Sorry for the radio silence last week. I'm a bad, bad little blogger. Do you forgive me? I was in Waterloo visiting my family, and well, you know how these things go. One day while my mom was at work, I unloaded all of her pink depression glass to admire and snap pictures of. This pattern is known as Old Colony or Open Lace, and is very delicate as the edges tend to break easily. I just love this collection. It's one of my very favourite things.

Isn't it just perfect? I'm simply pink with envy!
Do you have any depression glass of your own?

Every Room Needs a Touch of Pink

Some people believe that every room needs a bit of black (I am one of those people), but I've said it before and I'll say it again that every room also needs a touch of PINK, even if it's just in one singular item. Surely the men in our lives can't object to one single pink item in a room, can they? But it makes all the difference.

Here is some proof:

^Even something as simple as a pink book in a vignette can add a subtle touch of femininity and loveliness to a space.

^Pink even has a place in the kitchen. I'm in love with the pale hue of this coffee maker!

^Instead of using all white matting, try a pop of pink! This is such a fun detail, and I love the neon!

^ A pair of pink Hunter boots really makes this entrance way sing.

^Sure this desk could easily be black or white, but isn't it so much more FUN in pink?

Have I convinced you yet? Really though, did you even need any convincing?
Have a great day, and remember to think pink!

Floor Plan E-Design: Girly Glamour

This is a floor plan that I designed as part of my application to the design school that I have been accepted to! It's the school of my dreams and this was my favourite component of the application process. I hope you enjoy!

Valentine's Day Plans

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Just wanted to quick pop in and say hello and leave you all with this valentine's day inspired room. I looooove the pendant, and all the little pink touches help to make this space feel feminine and chic.

Today, Art History is my Valentine....romantic right?! I've got two back-to-back art history midterms.
In a perfect world, I'd have some adorable pink heart framed glasses to wear while I write them. Well, actually...in a perfect world I probably wouldn't have to back-to-back art history midterms but what can ya do! Here's a little peak at what I'm wearing to keep the holiday spirit alive:
Jeans & Watch: American Eagle, Clutch: Coach, Top: Dynamite, Shoes: Alfred Sung for Zellers
Sorry about the bad picture quality, I'm in a bit of a hurry!
My realllll Valentine's Day date is in a couple of days, when I fly to Nova Scotia to visit the bf! I haven't seen him since he left after Christmas, so I'm pretty excited! It's also our one year anniversary on the 19th!
Me and my guy on my birthday in June! I cannot wait to see this man again!
I've got a couple of really awesome guest bloggers lined up for while I'm away, doing some travel inspired posts that I know you will enjoy! Okay now I've really gotta go study! Wish me luck!

How are YOU spending Valentine's Day? I'd love to hear!

Trend I'm Loving: Neon Pink

I recently came across this beautiful outfit via tumblr:
I just love her outfit, specifically the BLAZER (and the pup!)

Bright pink has been on trend in both the fashion and decorating worlds for awhile now, and I'm obsessed. Shocking Pink was always my favourite crayon in the box. The following spaces will explain why:

^^The otttoman, pillows, glass accessories, and ESPECIALLY that lit up lampshade, take a white room and amp up the personality factor!

^^This wallpaper is certainly not for the faint at heart. You can see in the backroom how the light really brings out the brightness of the print's colour. Does anybody know what wallpaper this is? I love it!

From the living space of Anne Ulku, a Minneapolis based freelance graphic designer via Design*Sponge
^^Art and accessories contribute the neon pink to this room. I love all the bright and fun details.

^^ A pink couch! My boyfriend would never allow it. But maybe if I get my own place I'll get something like this. It's so fun.

Get the look via IKEA
KARLSTAD sofa, IKEA. $499.
KLUBBO coffee table, IKEA. $99. (came out a little blurry in the picture, but its quite streamline)
POANG rocking chair, IKEA. $179.
Add to this some colourful pillows, wall mount shelves chalked full of books, a small round side table, some accessories to the coffee table top and you've got this look for a reasonable price!

Do you have some bright pink in your wardrobe? What about pink decor?
